Over-ripe Bananas – What to do?

Do your bananas ever look like this?  Surprisingly, it happens in our house quite often.  I have a hard time understanding it, though.  My daughter likes them almost totally green.  The little ones like them just barely yellow and I like them just before they turn brown.  How is it that some of them get [...]

National Pancake Day – Who knew?

I sure wouldn’t know it was National Pancake Day if I hadn’t watched the morning news.  I “googled” National Pancake Day and sure enough, today is National Pancake Day!  So, in honor of National Pancake Day, here is my favorite pancake recipe:

The Best Pancake Recipe (makes about 16 small pancakes)

    Popcorn! – My Favorite Snack

Who doesn’t love popcorn? Popcorn is definitely one of my favorite snacks and my whole family loves it, also. I don’t really care for the microwave type of popcorn, but it will do in a pinch. What I really love is corn popped the old-fashioned way on the stove in a heavy [...]

Still Raining, Still Pouring – Really want to be snoring. . .

When it is cold and cloudy, and it is, I just turn into a great big old grumpy bear. The only thing I want to do is hibernate. Luckily, it’s the weekend and I have a little flexibility in my schedule, so I may try to sneak in a nap, but I can’t [...]

What’s for dinner tonight? – Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken

I love Fettuccini Alfredo, but I don’t love the calories in it.  I came up with my own lighter version of this tasty sauce and I serve it with baked, boneless, skinless chicken breast and California mix vegetables for a much healthier, but still delicious Fettuccini Alfredo dinner.

I am making it tonight specifically for one [...]

    Christmas Holiday Traditions

    Christmas Holiday Traditions

We have many Christmas holiday traditions in our family. There is the Christmas cookie tradition, the Christmas tree traditions, and naturally the Christmas Eve traditions. Of course, my favorite tradition is the Christmas cookie tradition. Every year we make dozens and dozens of different cookies to share with our [...]
